A selection of some projects developed by former practitioners within ENDA.

Quentin Derouet

Session: XXII, 2022-2023
Biographical Information: N/A
Session Project: Starting in 1940 in Marseille, Sylvain Itkine and his accomplices created a cooperative to offer Croques-Fruits, a dried fruit confectionery that provided nourishment and employment to those who had nothing left, including artists, poets, and refugees (such as Pierre Prévert, the brother of Jacques Prévert). Inspired by this utopia, Quentin Derouet and Vincent Bourdet decided to reinvest in this imaginary and this confectionery, incorporating contemporary questions. A bite to share in the same movement: aesthetics, history and art history, politics, and life.

José Manrubia

Session: XXII, 2022-2023
Biographical Information: Torero invisual artist, and organizer of large cultural events, notably the FlamencA festival in Arles. In his bullfighting career, he is the twenty-fifth matador in the history of French bullfighting and the first Frenchman to receive the alternativa (ceremony to become a matador) in Latin America, in Monterrey, Mexico. After twenty-four years of bullfighting in the world’s greatest arenas, such as Mexico City, Madrid, and Nîmes, he does not renounce his passion for bullfighting but believes it must evolve. He summarizes his general philosophy as follows: “In a transforming society, everyone, to the best of their abilities, must work towards a more virtuous world. It becomes essential to transform this practice into an ethical art, where the animal is treated with respect, without being injured or sacrificed.”
Session Project: The Ethical Bullfight proposes an ethical and artistic bullfighting, without violence or injury to the bull. It transforms this ancient rite into an art form. This ethical and artistic bullfighting, free of violence towards the bull, which is returned to the pastures after the performance to continue a life respecting animal dignity, has several objectives:
– Create a new form of bullfighting as an art in its own right
– Promote an ethical and artistic bullfighting without injury or death of the animal
– Preserve the bullfighting tradition, one of the founding rites of Mediterranean societies
– Protect a unique animal, the brave bull, a direct descendant of the ancestor of cattle, the Auroch. A breed whose survival depends exclusively on bullfighting practices

Hiresh Kheirabadi

Session : XX, 2020-2021
Biographical Information: Passionate about cinema, Hiresh had the chance to study with major figures of Iranian cinema, including Abbas Kiarostami, a globally recognized director, and to participate in film critique workshops led by Saeed Aghighi. He was also a student of Asghar Farhadi, a two-time Oscar-winning director. Convinced that invisible art is revolutionizing the art world, he found a deep resonance between this new form of expression and his own life experience in Iran. Hiresh’s story is that of an artist who, despite obstacles, has continued to give a voice to the oppressed and contribute to the artistic revolution of his time.
Session Project: A documentary film titled Invisible Art or the Revolution of Art in Progress, which delves into a quiet, little-known artistic revolution that is radically changing art. Invisible art paves the way for a new artistic era. The film uncovers and explores the mysteries of invisible art, a revolutionary artistic dynamic that challenges the foundations of artistic creation and art itself, pushing its limits to a new paradigm. The documentary offers a ticket to a fascinating adventure, showing that beyond art, it is a resistance to established models and systems of domination. The film introduces art forms largely unknown until now, but which, once discovered through the film, could have a significant impact on art and society.
