Franck Leibovici explores the notion of poetic documents that give us a new conceptual and perceptual apparatus for grasping public problems. The poetic document is a producer of knowledge through a process of description and reprocessing of knowledge. Poetic documents map processes of knowledge production from a pragmatic perspective, in keeping with current events and our daily life, suggesting a new partition between science and art. Franck Leibovici’s research on the forms of life and ecosystems produced by an artistic practice was set up as a project of investigation into ordinary artistic practices and the ways in which works of art exist (Centre Pompidou, 2009), and continued with ordinary narratives with Grégory Castéra and Yaëlle Kreplak (Villa Arson, Fondation Kadist, 2011) and an ecology of practices (Refresh!, Tate Modern, 2011). A form of life (a somewhat vague term) is a set of ethical, political and economic practices, gestures and positions. This ecology of the work is generally neglected in the apprehension of an artist’s work.
